Hello there pathetic peasant, allow me to introduce myself. I am the terror that reigns throughout Mobius, and Doctor Ivo Robotnik's most powerful creation, METAL SONIC. I was obviously made for the purpose of vanquishing that blue thing, Sonic the Hedgehog. How he is always triumphant in every battle that we have always manages to baffle me, but one day. Just one day, I'LL FINISH MY LOATHESOME COPY AND BECOME THE OVERLORD OF THE FUTURE!

Metal Sonic (メタルソニック Metaru Sonikku?) is a fictional robot from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is an evil robotic duplicate of Sonic the Hedgehog, created by Dr. Eggman. As well as resembling Sonic, he can perform many of Sonic's moves, including his Homing Attack. Metal Sonic is always on the dark side throughout the series, with Sonic Rivals 2 being the only game where he takes a protagonistic role as a playable character. He is noteworthy for being the second most recurring villain in the series, only behind Dr. Eggman himself.


Neo Metal Sonic (ネオメタルソニック Neo Metaru Sonikku?) is one of Metal Sonic's transformations seen in Sonic Heroes. He takes this form throughout most of the game in which he uses to disguise himself as Dr. Eggman and to copy the data of whom he fought against in order to make himself more powerful.



Neo Metal Sonic shares some distinctive traits with his normal form, such as black eyes with red irises, similar torso with rocket engine and the primary blue color with red shoes, but has number of differences too. His head has five long quills as opposed to his regular three, with white stripes and markings around his eyes, similar to that of Shadow's. The yellow color in his ears has been replaced with red and his nose is now black.

He has also possess more pronounced body armor, with black and curved shoulder plates, larger gauntlets and leg armor with pointy knee caps that has white outlines, a plate covering his pelvis and elf-like shoes. He also sports a spiky belt with a black cape that protrudes out of the back of his waist.

"Another one of you I don't know, do I have to do these for all of you? Well Shadow, since we were once villains, but you are known for occasionally helping Sonic out, I guess were neutral."

"......Amy Rose? Well, hi there. I apologize from all those times I've kidnapped you like Bowser and Peach, but Eggman ordered me too, and besides, You have that giant hammer of yours, why don't you utilize it?"

Shard The Metal Sonic:
"Oh it's this guy, now, where do I begin?! Well, I hate you because you think I'm a faker, when you're obviously another model of me built after me (( Admin: And you're built after Sonic, Lel. ewe )) clearly proving you're the fake, and you think I can be good. HOW DUMB IS THAT, DONT EVEN LOOK AT ME, SHARD, YOURE DISGUSTING!"

Dr. Eggman:
"Creator, Imma say something, but before I do, I want you to know this. I'm very appreciative that you've created me, and. I've been sticking with you for all of these years, and I'm your longest lasting robot, strongest creation, and yet, you treat me like thrash. .....You're kinda a....... What's the word? Oh. Douchebag." ene

Being made as a copy of Sonic that could match and even surpass the original in all aspects, Metal Sonic possesses nearly all of the same physical abilities that Sonic has, but are increased considerably, making Metal Sonic one of Dr. Eggman's most powerful and dangerous creations.

Traits that Metal Sonic share with Sonic include their super speed, lightning-fast reflexes and agility that allows them to react to threats coming in at supersonic speed, and their physical strength - sufficient enough to tear metal apart. By utilizing a combination of an anti-gravity system that allows him to hover off the ground and an advanced jet engine built into his chassis, Metal Sonic can match and even exceed Sonic's running speed in an instant, allowing the robot to move at speeds surpassing at least Mach 1. By overloading his circuits, Metal Sonic can achieve four times the accelerating speed of Sonic, allowing him to reach speed reaching that of Mach 5- however, he cannot sustain it for long without risking his own destruction.

In addition to Sonic's standard abilities, Metal Sonic has numerous other capabilities unique to himself- these include firing laser blasts from the aperture in his chassis, telescopic extendable limbs, and the ability to generate near-impenetrable force fields and powerful energy surges from his body. Plus, by utilizing his jet engine and upping the power of his levitation system, Metal Sonic can achieve flight, allowing him to move through the air at incredible speed.

Metal Sonic's arguably most powerful and impressive skill is his ability to replicate the abilities, powers and traits of others, similar to the Gizoids. By scanning and copying the life data on others, be it either robots or organic creatures, Metal Sonic is capable of immediately and flawlessly copying and mimicking other people's combat techniques, fighting moves and even the superhuman abilities unique to specific individuals, such as Chaos Powers, ESP, super strength, invisibility etc., essentially making his abilities unlimited.

In Sonic Heroes, Metal Sonic also demonstrated the ability to shape-shift, which allows him to change his appearance and body structure. When shape-shifting, Metal Sonic can perfectly imitate the physical form and voice of even organic creatures, such as when he posed as Sonic when he kidnapped Froggy and Chocola.

Using the data from Team Sonic, Team Rose, Team Dark, Team Chaotix and Chaos, and as well as parts of Eggman's other machines, Neo Metal Sonic can transform himself into a super powerful version of himself called Metal Madness. In this form, Metal Sonic possesses a flamethrower, missile launchers, and massively increased strength. Eggman states that he is so powerful in this state that they have a slim chance of beating him, even with all seven Chaos Emeralds.

Metal Overlord
Main article: Metal Overlord
After completing his transformation as Metal Madness, Metal Sonic becomes Metal Overlord. In this form, he sprouts wings, thus gaining the ability to fly, plus the ability to shoot crystals and to perform Chaos Control. In this form, he becomes so powerful that he is nearly invincible, even to super transformed characters.
